Free SSL certificate as standard
Every web hosting account gets a free SSL certificate as standard when the account is provisioned. It can take up to an hour for your SSL to be active, but once this occurs, the system will ensure it remains up-to-date and re-issued when required.

What is SSL
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. It is a method of encrypting all information that travels from your website to the end user to ensure that nothing can be accessed along the way.
Today most common web browsers will display a warning message if a website is not using a valid SSL certificate. The web browser will inform the user their connection is not secure and advise against visiting the web page. This is in the interests of safety, because data that is send un-encrypted can be intersepted and accessed along the way.
