CW3 Hosting is now Ulatu
As you read this blog post you will be on our brand new website. CW3 Web Hosting is now Ulatu. This is a full rebrand of the service. This is something that has been a work in progress for over a year and we are happy to finally go live with our new branding and website. The big question from many of you will surely be “Why”?
As a web hosting business, we are a very small operation. We do need to grow and increase our reach. We developed a marketing plan and are at the early stages of putting this into play. Part of this plan was a new name and branding. This is not the first time the business has been rebranded. It was originally called “Cyberweb 3”.
There are two main reasons we decided to change the name of the website. The first one struck me not long after I took over. People would ask what I do and I would tell them I run a web hosting business. They would ask the name and I would tell them. They would then ask what it meant (CW3). That was honestly difficult to answer. Back when the web was young Cyberweb made sense because it was a techy online word. These days it doesn’t work. The acronym CW3 made it even harder to explain.
The 2nd reason was to make a fresh start with marketing. I want to develop an active feed on all the popular social media channels. For CW3 many of these already exist, but I do not have access to update them or moderate comments. With a fresh name, we can make a fresh start online including social media.
What does Ulatu mean?
To be honest, it has no meaning, it is simply a name. We wanted something that was short and easy to remember. The way to pronounce it is “You La Too”. We believe Ulatu is a much more brandable name that CW3host and we will be pushing the new brand extensively on social media.
What changes for users?
The service you were receiving with CW3 will continue exactly as it was. You may have noticed that we re-named our price plans approximately 6 months ago. This was to simplify the naming convention. Instead of Starter, Lite-1, Lite-2 and Gold, we migrated our price plans to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Our methodology is to keep things as simple as possible and the price plan changes were one example.
The biggest change will be our website URL. If you have bookmarked the members area for example we suggest you update your bookmarks. The CW3 website will continue to redirect users to Ulatu for the foreseeable future. The old member’s area login page will also redirect users to the new login page. The new member’s area is located at portal.ulatu.com
If you pay by card you will also notice a change on your card statement. The payment will be made to Ulatu/CW3 in a few months this will be changed to simply Ulatu.
Our aim with the transition to Ulatu is “business as usual”. There will be no disruption to any of your services.
